Main Contact And Auxiliary Contact Connections

Connect the breaker’s main and auxiliary contacts to the correct ACTAS Px60 inputs.

Main Contacts & Pre-Insertion Resistors (PIR) Connections

Connect the main contact cables

Connect the cables labeled Main (blue, red, and yellow) to the A, B, and C Main 1+2 inputs on the ACTAS Px60.

Input count: The P260+ has 3 Main Contact Inputs. The P360+ has 6 Main Contact Inputs.

Connect at each breaker pole

  • Connect a black and red clamp to the top of each pole’s bushings.
  • Plug the black cable into the black clamp.
  • Plug the red cable labeled 1 into the red clamp.
  • The red cable labeled 2 is only used if the pole has two interrupters.

During the test: Earthing must be removed on one side of the breaker pole.

Auxiliary Contact Connections

Connect the auxiliary cables to ACTAS

Connect the cables labeled Aux to the A, B, and C Aux 1–4 inputs on the ACTAS P360.

Connect at the breaker auxiliary points

Connect the Aux cables labeled 1–4 to the breaker auxiliary connection points. Cable 1 is normally used for 52a; cable 2 is used for 52b.

Dry Auxiliary Contacts

In this breaker example, 1 and 2 are connected after the contact. The ACTAS Aux Common is connected before the contact.

Wet Auxiliary Contacts

In this breaker example, 1 and 2 are connected after the contact. The ACTAS Aux Common is connected to the Station Battery Ground.

Auxiliary voltage: The auxiliary voltage supplied by ACTAS is 24 VDC. The input signal range is between 24 and 300 VDC.
