Create or select a switchgear template, configure dual-ground timing, run a timing test, and save the job.

Setup and testing procedure

Power on the ACTAS Px60

  • Select the “Test” tile on the touch screen to create a new job.

Select a switchgear option

Select “New switchgear” to create a new template. To select an existing template and begin testing, jump to step 11.

Create a new template

In the upper-right corner of the screen, press the “+” icon to create a new template.

Identify the switchgear

Specify the switchgear manufacturer and model.

Configure construction details

Select the “Construction” tab to specify breaker details.

  • Move down the tab list and fill in the layout for the coils, motor, and any needed travel factor.
  • Press the back arrow at the top left of the screen.

Configure timing tests

Select the “Tests” tab, then select the “Timing” tab from the list on the left.

  • Specify the sample rate, pre-trigger duration, command time, and total record duration for each timing operation: O (trip), C (close), OC (reclose), CO (trip free), and OCO.

  • Press the back arrow at the top left of the screen.

Configure motor analysis

Select the “Analysis” tab.

  • Select the “Motor” tab to designate the current detection level and current averaging window.

Set contact analysis and dual-ground timing

Select the “Main contacts” tab to designate the time-zero reference point as either the command signal or coil-current pickup. Close- and opening-speed measurement parameters can also be configured under this tab.

  • For dual-ground testing: select the “Dyn. Timing” tab and set the calculation mode to “Test current.”

  • Press the back arrow at the top left of the screen.

Edit the default connections

Select the “Connections” tab, then select “Edit default connections.”

  • Select the “Main contacts” tab and change the Test mode from “Internal” to “PROMET.”
  • Select the “Aux contacts” tab and specify the number of contacts monitored and whether a wetting voltage should be applied.

  • Select the “Travel” tab. Under “Sensor 1,” select “Main contact” from the dropdown.
  • Select the gear symbol; the transducer can then be selected from the library.

  • Select the “Motor” tab. Current and voltage measurement can be enabled here.

Save the template

Press the save icon at the top right of the screen.

  • Press the back arrow at the top left of the screen to return to the list of switchgear templates, which will now include the template just created.

Select the template

Select the template from the list to begin testing.

Open the test options

Once the template has been selected, tests may now be performed.

Run the timing test

Select the “Timing” tile.

  • From the tabs on the left, select the operation to perform, such as O (trip) or C (close).
  • Press the “OK” tactile button on the device below the touch screen to start the test.

Save the job

Press the back arrow at the top left of the screen.

  • Press the save button at the bottom left of the screen.

  • To save the job, all fields marked with an asterisk (*) must be filled in.
