First Trip

Connect external sensors, configure triggers, and set the recording parameters for a First Trip test.

First Trip procedure

Connect the sensors

Connect the sensors to the secondary side of the current transformers and to the release coils, then connect them to ACTAS according to the configuration.

Create the connection configuration

Under Connections, create a First Trip connection configuration. Click the First Trip connection configuration to open it.

Configure the main contacts

Under Connections / Main contacts:

  • Select the First Trip test mode.
  • Set the connection mode to three phase or per pole.
  • Configure the sensor being used.
  • Connect the leads to Sensor 2.

Set the coil-current sensors

Set the sensors for measuring the coil currents under Connections / Sensors.

Open Trigger

Switch to Trigger.

Configure the trigger set

Apply a Signal function / Coil current trigger set with:

  • An Over trigger with a positive trigger value.
  • An Under trigger with a negative trigger value.

Open the First Trip test

Switch to Tests / First Trip.

Define the recording parameters

Define the parameters for the recording. To obtain an optimum test result, do not set either the pre-trigger duration or the recording duration below the basic setting of 500 ms.
